Moments – Jorge Luis Borges

If I could start all over again,
The second time, I would make more mistakes.
I wouldn't try to be perfect, I would lie on my back.
I'd be happy, as I wasn't the first time,
very few things
I seriously would.

Cleaning would never be a problem.
I would take more risks.
I would travel more.
More sunrises follow,
I would climb more mountains, swim more rivers.
I used to go to many places I had not seen.
I ate ice cream to the fullest and less peas.
My problem would be real rather than imaginary ones.
I was one of those people who made every moment of life real and productive.
If I could start over, I would only have happy moments.
I don't know if you are aware. That's what life is.
Understands, just understands. Live the moment too.
Without a thermometer, water, umbrella and parachute anywhere,
I was one of the people who didn't go.
If I could start over, I could not move anything.
If I could start over
I used to throw my shoes away in the spring.
And I would walk barefoot until autumn ended.
Discover unknown roads, savor the sun,
I would play with the kids if I had a chance.
But here I am at 85 and I know…
I'm DIE...
