The Yellow Ox: An Exemplary Story

Once upon a time there lived a herd of oxen in a pasture. Although they lived, the lions in the vicinity would never leave them alone. They attacked this herd almost every day. The ox is not such an underrated animal! They knew how to easily drive away those big lions when they gathered together. Although they would get a scratch or two, they still wouldn't give in to the tyranny of the lions.

An anxiety that has taken over the lions day by day. However, they started to feed on small animals such as rabbits and mice. They gradually weakened. Well, that's the lion! Do you ever get enough of mice and rabbits? “It must be our duty to leave this pasture,” said one of the lions. “Yes,” others affirmed. “Wait a minute!” they heard a dead voice from behind. Everyone turned to look in the direction the voice came from. It was Lame Aslan, the weakest but cunning member of the herd, who was taken to the word. "No!" He said, “We are not going anywhere. You leave it to me, I'll handle this." Anyone who didn't believe him said, "Let's give it a shot, what's up?" they thought. He took one or two lions with him and went to the oxen. He did not forget to raise the white flag.

Five big oxen, especially the Gray Ox, who is the leader of the oxen, approached them. They asked what they wanted. Lame Aslan started to speak. On the other hand, he was shivering looking at the sharp and huge horns of the Gray Ox. “Respected ox-lords!” he started. “We came here today to apologize to you. I know we have hurt you many times. Who knows how many of you have that claw mark. But believe me, we didn't do any of this on purpose. Know that we lions are a peaceful community. Especially with the oxen, we can't have anything to do with it. However, yes we attacked you many times, but do you know why? All because of the Yellow Ox among you. His color is not like yours. It dazzles us, it blows our minds. When we see it, we forget how peace-loving we are and attack you and harm your herd. Otherwise, we have nothing to do with you. You all suffer because of him. You can't sit comfortably and confidently in your life. Maybe even at night our roar keeps you awake. It's all Yellow Ox's fault. Give it to us, and you too will be saved, so we can live in peace.”

Gray Ox withdrew to meet with the other notables. All of them welcomed this offer. Only the old Spotted Ox said, "No way," but he couldn't make anyone listen to his voice. Poor Yellow Ox to the sacrificed lions. They all attacked. on the poor ox. He threw one or two off him, but he soon became exhausted. He whimpered, bellowed, asked for help, begged; but no one heard him. Others are upset, but what can you do? An ox was necessary for the safety of the whole flock.

Indeed, no one attacked the herd for days. The days passed in peace. But how patient is this herd of lions? Especially after tasting the ox meat.

“We are hungry,” they said to Lame Aslan, before even a few weeks had passed. He also took a few of them with him, and once again he went to the Gray Ox. “Hello,” he entered the word. “You see! What a docile herd we lions are. I would like to congratulate you again for your right decision. You are at peace, and so are we. How happy! I didn't come here just to say this. We have a big problem.” "Why?" said the Gray Ox, curiously. “That is your Long Tail,” said Lame Aslan. “It has such a long tail that it can be seen wherever we look. As he wags his tail, we are losing our minds and our eyes are spinning; We try hard not to attack the herd. However, do you? You are all normal tails. Because of her fault, I'm afraid you'll all get hurt. Come give it to us, let's close this issue here. Let both parties continue their lives in peace and love as before.”

The Gray Ox consulted again with the howls of the herd. Again, only the Spotted Ox objected. They all said, "Let's give it away". This time the consultation was even shorter. They excluded Long Tail from the herd. It took hours for the poor man to struggle, but in the end he too succumbed to the lions. This has been repeated over and over again. The lions are getting fatter every day. They are as strong as possible. The oxen, on the other hand, became weaker and thinner with each passing day. The more arrogant the lions get, the more arrogant they get. They no longer felt the need to give a reason. They were just saying, give us that ox, or we won't get involved. The poor oxen have no strength left to say no. All of them were dying one by one in the claws of lions. A few of them, including the Gray Ox, remained at the end. "What happened to us? When did we lose this war against lions? How strong were we? ' someone asked Gray Ox. “We,” said the Gray Ox, with moist eyes and a trembling voice with regret; “We lost this war the day we gave the Yellow Ox…”
